NCSA Project S.O.F.T Camp Back To Face To Face

Project Safeguarding Our Future Today (Project Soft) the annual residential camp hosted by The National Council on Substance Abuse (NCSA), is here once again.

The camp will be held over the period November 3rd – 6th 2022, at the Eastern Caribbean Camp, Ruby St. Phillip under the theme, ‘Choices! Know the Facts…Make the choice’.

Coordinator Mrs. Makeada Bourne says, “As we continue here at the NCSA to highlight the dangers and consequences of using illegal substances, we want to emphasize that it’s all about choices; but very important is that we give you the facts.”

Catering to forty (40) children who sat this year’s Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination, the camp is designed to prepare the children who are in 1st form how to deal with the many challenges they are likely to face at school especially as they transition into teenagers.

Some Topics to be covered include anger management, stress management, effects of drug use, drug-refusal skills, how to handle bullying in schools, loss and grief, mental wellness, how to communicate with your parents and how to communicate with your adolescent.

Even with the relaxation of Covid 19 protocols, the NCSA will observe strict health safety standards to ensure the safety of participants.

Registration will be on a 1st come 1st serve basis, so register early to reserve your space.
