Drugs & Decisions
Goal
To enhance decision making skills of Primary School Children in Barbados
To reduce initial drug use among Primary School Children
Objectives
Increase awareness of positive and negative consequences of a decision
Increase awareness of steps taken in making a decision
Improve drug refusal, peer resistance and goal setting skills
Drugs & Decisions allows the children to explore the consequences of drug use in safe environment. By taking the children through the stages of decision making they are given the opportunity to explore their personal sentiments and prepare for any future encounters with drugs.
This programme has been facilitated since 2002 and provided the first formal insight into the perceptions of Class 3 & 4 children with regard to drugs.
